At CrossFit Verity we are more than a gym. We are a place that people of all ages, and fitness levels, call their home away from home. We believe that constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements are the key to improving your fitness. We strive for excellence and virtuosity not only in fitness, but in all aspects of what we do. When you walk through our door you are walking into a vibrant community of people who know how to have fun, but also who know that hard work pays off. CROSSFIT

CrossFit is a core strength & conditioning program that delivers a fitness that is by design, broad, general, and inclusive no matter the skill level. CrossFit teaches movements that you find in real life...pushing, pulling, squatting, jumping, throwing, carrying, and sprinting. At CrossFit Verity our program is designed for general physical preparedness. Our workouts are constantly varied, high intensity, and use functional movements. If you are looking to get stronger, fitter, and healthier, we can help you achieve your goals.

ON RAMP

New to CrossFit? Don't be shy, let us help you get started. With our On Ramp Program, we will ask you to meet one of our coaches for 4 Saturday's to get you up to speed. If you cannot attend 4 weekends in a row, we are happy to spread this class out to meet your schedule. This class will be one hour long and will cover all the CrossFit Foundational movements to get you comfortable. We will encourage you to still go to our regularly scheduled classes but we will make sure the programming is at a level you are ready for. We want to help you get started to meet your fitness goals and have the most success possible!

WEIGHTLIFTING

The back of our gym is home to our USAW sanctioned Verity Barbell Club. As this is not a instructed program, we expect that you know your way around a barbell. You need to show that you are proficient in the snatch, clean and jerk, and have some knowledge of basic accessory movements. Platforms are open during CrossFit hours, and are on a first come basis. To be a part of the Barbell Club you must have any of the three unlimited membership plans. Also, your weightlifting membership includes CrossFit for free, so you can always drop into a class if you just want to get sweaty.

Our competitor program is not for the weekend warrior, this program is is for people who train for the sport side of CrossFit. We follow MisFit Athletics daily blog for our competitor programming, if you follow MisFit and you are from out of town shoot us an email, we would love to have you!

Pricing

Find a plan that works for you. 

On Ramp:

The cost for the On Ramp Program will be a one-time fee of $200, this includes unlimited classes during your on ramp process. Once the On Ramp Program is complete and you are ready to hit the classes full speed ahead, you can then choose which program is best for you, 3 x a week schedule or the unlimited program.

Drop Ins:

We would love for you to visit us for a drop in! All we ask is that you shoot us a quick e-mail at crossfitverity@gmail.com let us know a little bit about you and your athletic background. Our fee for drop ins are $20 per class and you get a free t-shirt! If you already know the class you want to attend, you can fill out the waiver and pay the drop in fee ahead of time here.

Punch Cards:

Maybe you are still not quite sure about a membership, or you are only in town for a week and want to workout more than once, we have a punch card that is $75 and is good for 5 classes. There is no maximum of punch cards you can purchase, but they do expire after a month.

Scott Shirey

Scott played baseball growing up and throughout high school played competitive lacrosse. After high school, Scott went on to enlist in the US Navy where he excelled in all physical fitness tests at each of his commands, thus earning him the position of Command Fitness Leader. In 2007, he separated from enlisted duty and began the slippery slope of contracting work which caused him to become sedentary, as it does not require physical fitness in the day to day grind. Three years passed and Scott decided to become a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserves and get back to serving and being physically fit. Scott tried his best working out at a globo gym, using the treadmill and weight machines, but it was not getting the job done. In 2012, Scott walked into a local CrossFit Affiliate, after the first workout he was sold! It took him about 6 months to fully dedicate himself to CrossFit, following the paleo diet, sucking up the aches and pains, and being consistent. After seeing both physical and mental transformations, he decided he wanted to spread his knowledge and experience to others and begin coaching. After two years of immersing himself in the CrossFit world he decided to continue to spread his love of health and fitness to others, and open his own Affiliate with Monroe.

Monroe Miller

Monroe has been doing CrossFit since August 2011, his first workout was “Filthy Fifty” and back then, he was very out of shape and a smoker for almost 5 years. Growing up Monroe loved riding bicycles and the sport of cycling. He worked for a few of the local bike shops through high school and college, and on spring break his family tradition was to do 100 mile rides. Growing up Monroe dabbled in wrestling and lacrosse, but before finding CrossFit, he never did any kind of weight training or spent any time in a gym. Since CrossFit, he has developed a healthy lifestyle, to include incredible fitness and strength.  He loves training and competing in both CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting. He is a USAW Coach and has a passion for watching, coaching, and competing in the sport of weightlifting. After becoming a level 1 trainer and starting to coach he soon became obsessed with human movement and virtuosity. The thing he loves the most about CrossFit is the community. Not only among the local group of athletes and friends, but  also the greater CrossFit community. CrossFit completely changed his life and he wanted to give back and share that with the world in opening his own affiliate with Scott.

Jim Akins

Jim has been a multi sport athlete since early childhood. After his last year of semi pro football for a local team he needed something else to challenge him. Year after year of weightlifting at different globo gyms was starting to bore him. He found a crossfit gym close to his house and signed up for a free class. His first workout was Fran...and like many of you it kicked his butt. He was immediately hooked. That was 2011. He's always liked to help others and found a home coaching CrossFit. The opportunity to help others and share experiences seemed perfect for him and he jumped at it.

Sarah Mills

Sarah has coached CrossFit since 2009 and has trained professional, elite and everyday athletes for a decade and a half to achieve performance and personal health and fitness goals. 

Sarah is a Head Trainer with CrossFit Headquarters’ Seminar Staff--training new CrossFit trainers, and has served as a judge for many CrossFit competitions, including the CrossFit Games.

Sarah holds the following qualifications:

Natasha Motes

Natasha found CrossFit after spending several years as a runner. As a track athlete in high school, she added weight training to her workout regimen after giving birth to her oldest son in 2004. She was introduced to CrossFit by her husband, who had started CrossFit with a co-worker. From then on, she was hooked, training five to seven days per week on a regular basis. Natasha has a background in the medical field, as she became a Licensed Practical Nurse immediately following high school. In addition to being a wife, mom, and coach, Natasha is currently studying to attain a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.

Natasha holds the following qualifications:

· USAW Sports Performance Coach

Vinny Nguyen

Vinny has always love lifting weights growing up. It started in middle school when he joined the wrestling team, being one of the smallest guys in his class he had to work twice as hard to be successful. In 2012, Vinny discovered Capital MMA & Elite Fitness which offered CrossFit and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Practicing both sports, Vinny went on to competing in two local BJJ Copa Novas in which he placed in each one and competing in several local CrossFit competitions. He became addicted to the high intensity workouts and the competitive environment of CrossFit.  In 2015, Vinny took the next step in his CrossFit journey taking the CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course and joining the CrossFit Verity Coaching Staff.

Vinny holds the following qualifications:

Jon Peet

Jon has been an athlete his whole life, he grew up as a 3 sport athlete playing football, ice hockey, and lacrosse. He played lacrosse in college and graduated from Long Island University. During the summer of 2010, he decided to give CrossFit a try and was hooked. Since then he gained about 25 pounds and a healthier lifestyle with the support of the CrossFit community.  He also participate in Olympic Weightlifting competitions from time to time, and enjoys coaching athletes to achieve their goals.

Jon holds the following qualifications:

Jamie Bruen

Jamie started CrossFit in 2012, after trying a few different commercial and boxing gyms. Jamie was looking for a strength and conditioning program to keep up with the physical demands of caring for a growing child with muscular dystrophy. CrossFit quickly became more than just a strength building program for her but also a support community.  Jamie has an undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education and a masters degree in Adapted Physical Education. She has taught elementary and middle school P.E. and coached youth basketball and softball from the elementary to the varsity high school levels.   Jamie served in the Army Reserve and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran.

Jamie holds the following qualifications:

Dennis Park

Dennis enjoyed playing multiple sports growing up and continues to do so whenever he can. But between running a business and raising a family of four kids who are heavily involved in sports, trying to find the time for himself became a challenge.  So in 2012, he decided to give CrossFit try and after the first class, he signed up and never looked back.  CrossFit embodied everything he was looking for - high intensity, constantly varied, and only an hour a day!  Seeing how CrossFit transformed his own lifestyle at the young age of 40, he knew this was something he wanted to share with everyone and especially with his own kids.  Two years later he got certified as a Level 1 CrossFit and CrossFit Kids Trainer.

Ben Queipo

Ben has been interested in sports and fitness since high school where he did gymnastics, wrestled, and played football. Weightlifting was introduced in school and he was quickly drawn to the personal challenge and satisfaction that came with weight training and conditioning. Ben continued to enjoy physical challenges both in the gym and outside, when he joined the military. This is where he really began to enjoy and appreciate applying fitness in a non-traditional way, not just in a gym. Ben first tried CrossFit on a dare and immediately loved the intensity and variety of the workouts. He also loves the community that comes with CrossFit and enjoys helping people improve, and giving back as a coach.
